Will my photo actually be accepted by the authority?

SpecSnap enforces every published dimensional requirement — output resolution, face height, eye line, background colour, and file size — for each document. The remaining variables (focus, expression, lighting) are surfaced as warnings before you export, so you can fix them or reshoot. Where an authority publishes an exact file-size cap (e.g. 60 KB for Singapore visa, 300 KB for Malaysia passport, 240 KB for Indonesia passport), we recompress to hit it while preserving colour fidelity.

Which documents are supported today?

Singapore — Passport/IC, Visa, Work Pass, Driving Licence. Malaysia — Passport (Print & IMI Portal), Visa, Employment Pass, Driving Licence. Indonesia — Passport, e-Visa/e-VoA, Visa (35×45 & 4×6 red), KTP odd- and even-birth-year. Thailand — Passport, Visa, Visa-on-Arrival, e-Visa digital, Work Permit. Philippines — Passport, Visa, General 2×2, NBI Clearance, PRC License. 25 in total. More country packs ship in future updates — free for everyone.

Does SpecSnap upload my photo anywhere?

No. Face detection and background removal use on-device ML models bundled with the app. Your photo, the extracted face landmarks, and the final crop all stay in app-local storage. The only network calls the app makes are to fetch optional app updates — the photo pipeline itself is 100% local.

What phones does it run on?

iOS 15+ and Android 8+. Processing time scales with chip generation: expect 2–4s on any phone shipped in the last four years, a bit longer on older hardware. All processing is on-device.

How much does SpecSnap cost?

Nothing. SpecSnap is free to download and use — every spec, every export, no watermarks, no subscription, no sign-up. If we introduce paid features later, the core pipeline will stay free.

By using SpecSnap (“the App”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Service Description

The App generates ID and passport photos that comply with official specifications for various countries. It uses on-device face detection, background removal, and smart cropping to produce photos meeting standard requirements for dimensions, face positioning, and background color.

In-App Purchases

The App may offer optional paid features in the future (for example, to remove a watermark or unlock additional export options). If and when such features are introduced, pricing will be displayed in the App at the time of purchase and processed through Apple’s App Store or Google Play Store in your local currency.

Refund Policy

If the App offers paid features, refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies. If a photo generated by the App is rejected by a government authority despite meeting the displayed compliance specifications, contact us and we will assist you in obtaining a refund where applicable.

No Guarantee of Acceptance

While the App generates photos that comply with published official specifications, we cannot guarantee that every government agency or authority will accept the resulting photo. Requirements may change, individual offices may apply additional criteria, or photo quality may vary depending on the source image. The App is a tool to help you meet specifications — final acceptance is at the discretion of the issuing authority.

Your Content

You retain all rights to your photos. The App processes photos locally on your device and does not claim any ownership or license to your images. Photos are not uploaded to any server.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose of generating ID and passport photos. You may not reverse-engineer, modify, or redistribute the App.

Limitation of Liability

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to rejected photo submissions, missed deadlines, or application delays.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
